A semi-structured interview was performed with eight carried-over patients who were still receiving regular outpatient medical care for the illness they contracted when they were infants, and the interviews were analysed qualitatively and deductively. As a result, seven categories were extracted: “I feel as if I am permanently affected by a disease”, “I feel the beginning of a sense of independence from my parents who support me”, “Although there is hardship, my school/work life is normal”, “I do not want to be considered to be special, as a sick person”, “I am worried about my future, but I cannot imagine it”, “trust in my doctor ”,and “I feel uncomfortable or inconvenienced during outpatient visits.” It is suggested that the nurse needs to be actively involved in patient care so as to encourage the patient to understand and be interested in his/her illness and to have realistic expectations about future life events such as going to the university, finding a job, and getting married. Nursing interventions should likewise be individualised, keeping in mind that the patient is on his/her way to adulthood while constantly coping with the illness he/she contracted as an infant.}, pages = {101--115}, title = {思春期・青年期にあるキャリーオーバーした当事者の病気や医療に対する思い}, volume = {14}, year = {2014}, yomi = {タナカ, サオリ} }
