Of the 74 kindergartens in our sample that performed vegetable growing activities in FY 2011, 85% grew vegetables on site, 85% grew tomatoes, and 100% engaged their kindergarteners in some gardening activities (e.g., harvesting). In more than 85% of the kindergartens, the number of "children who like the vegetable they grew" and "children showing interest and attention toward food" increased. Furthermore, it was shown that compared to the kindergartens engaging children in gardening activities less than once a week, the kindergartens that held gardening activities at least once a week had a higher rate of children who began exhibiting interest in food and children who attempted to eat foods that they did not like.Also, it was revealed that compared to the kindergartens without parent participation in gardening activities, the kindergartens with parent participation had a higher rate of children who helped in meal preparation and cleaning up after meals. Considering these results, we suggest that vegetable growing activities in kindergartens may be effective for the nutrition education of children,their effectiveness may increase when vegetable growing activities are conducted at least once a week and involve parental participation.}, pages = {1--11}, title = {幼稚園における野菜栽培活動の状況とその食育効果-北海道某市での調査-}, volume = {13}, year = {2013}, yomi = {キダ, ハルヨ and アラカワ, ヨシヒト and オオクボ, イワオ and オオクボ, イワオ and オオクボ, イワオ} }
