Data were obtained from four certified expert nurses, who agreed to participate in this study using a semi-structured interview, and analyzed using qualitative content analysis. We found seven categories as barriers to cancer pain management related to nurses. They included; lack of pain assessment; obscure evidence; negative attitudes; failure to discuss about pain; misunderstanding about analgesics; difficulty in assessment of complicated pain; and differences vis-a-vis the situation. The findings from this study suggest that; (a) nursing records should be improved to always check the degree of pain; (b) education for pain management needs to be done on different levels; (c) expert nurses in pain management must set an example in their practice; (d) certified expert nurses help train capable nurses on all units; and (e) all nurses are obligated to learn about pain management.}, pages = {77--84}, title = {認定看護師がとらえる一般病棟に所属する看護師のがん性疼痛マネジメントを阻害する因子}, volume = {7}, year = {2007}, yomi = {コジマ, エツコ} }
